Work out & Talk about your Feelings
Is it shameful to talk about your feelings? Does needing help make you less of a man? What if people say you should just toughen up, keep your feelings to yourself, and stop overthinking?
Let me put it this way: People make excuses to avoid working out, don’t they? But they never regret it afterwards, especially after they feel better and look better. Similarly, it’s human nature to bury the shame, humiliation, and helplessness, that people made us feel, and instead, hold on to our blame and rage we feel towards them. We come up with all the excuses in the world to avoid vulnerability about our true feelings. We also disappear to avoid accountability for our hidden struggles. But when you finally experience the Redemption that integrity and forgiveness have to offer, you’ll never regret having shown the courage of finally facing your demons. I’m not talking about complaining while doing nothing different. I’m talking about reconciling your hurt feelings and shameful desires with the Ideals that you used to hold most dear. And that’s what is courageous, just like working out when you don’t feel like it. That’s what I believe. And great men agree:
“Don’t be ashamed to need help. Like a soldier storming a wall, you have a mission to accomplish. And if you’ve been wounded and you need a comrade to pull you up, so what?”
— Marcus Aurelius, the Emperor of Rome

“When I started coaching with Damodar, I was holding on to a lot of blame and anger, both towards and myself and other people. I often felt overwhelmed with anxiety while interacting with people. And I was struggling with addiction on almost a daily basis.
But what’s amazing is that now it’s hard to even relate to that condition I was so absorbed in before. I’ve become more self-controlled, accepting of my situation, and confident in myself. I think the core of what helped me was the safe space Damodar provided to talk about sensitive matters, and the gentle grounding of the journaling exercises we did. This coaching process really helped me to understand my own feelings, and find the path forward to heal and grow from my experiences.
I've rekindled friendships, relationships, and experienced a new sense of grounding, focus, and creativity. I was able to build a strong morning practice of yoga, mantra meditation, and exercise, which has boosted my overall well-being in a big way. Journaling became a strong habit for me, even though I had tried before without much success. Overall, Damodar inspired me to be more honest and to pursue greater integrity in my life.
I feel like Damodar’s genuine care for others was the driving force behind my transformation. And I would recommend him to anyone who’s struggling with difficult emotions, addictions, or even anyone who wants to explore and more deeply understand their own life and feelings.” — Chris

“For many years I had an addiction. I felt so ashamed that I went out of my way to keep it a secret, even while seeking help. I’ve actually done coaching with Damodar for over five years now, and we’ve written down my whole life story together. I began to realize that my addiction makes perfect sense given my rough circumstances and sensitive nature. I also began to see my way out of it and actually reached over one year of complete sobriety. I’ve become more assertive and self-satisfied in my dealings with others. I’ve learned how to accept my feelings and take greater responsibility. The experience of having Damodar get to know me so personally, and still be warm and accepting, has been the opposite of shame. He’s a great guy.”

“When I first started coaching, I was imposing a value system on myself that didn’t actually reflect my innermost self and desires. I was really just absorbing the value systems of other people out of fear of rejection or conflict, while half-heartedly passing them off as my own. But Damodar helped me see parts of myself that I wasn’t allowing myself access to. With his kind and steady help, I began to discover my own voice - and a deep, genuine self-confidence.”

“For years I had journaled on and off, always with the intention to make it a daily habit, but was never able to maintain the practice. Damodar’s habit tracker and stimulating journal prompts helped me rediscover my love for journaling and it’s been a consistent daily habit for me ever since.
I appreciated the insights Damodar offered, and especially the way in which he offered them. Rather than just telling me how to improve, he helped guide my introspections in a way that I was able to see the deeper causes of negative habits and understand why I developed them as coping strategies, as well as the valid need I was trying to meet, and how I could meet that need in healthier ways. In this way, he showed me how transforming habits is not as much a process of self-neglect and restraint, but rather self-care.
In working with Damodar, I was also able to see subtle connections between different tendencies in my life that were previously unnoticed. This was highly empowering and motivating to know that addressing and working on the root of one problem would enhance multiple aspects of my life; and my experience since then has confirmed this to be true. He is extremely insightful, relatable, non-judgmental, comforting, but also challenging when I need that. It's clear that Damodar is integral in practicing and living what he teaches.”— D.K. New York

“I have been in an ongoing struggle with addiction and anger for a long time, as well as self-destructive thoughts about my personal image and identity. But through our conversations Damodar helped me to gain the insights I was hoping for. I got a better sense of what I can positively appreciate in myself. I saw how my past traumas can be triggered by events in my current life, and how that can be a catalyst to patterns of thinking and acting that I’d be better off to avoid.
I learned how to handle conflict in a way where I can be empathetic both to myself and the other person. I learned how to be kind to myself by celebrating my wins, and not looking at every “loss” as evidence that I’m a failure. I have more insight now about my heroes and role models in life, and how they had paved the way of my morals and ethics that have been buried in my heart since my young adulthood.
I appreciated Damodar’s kindness, his attention to detail in our conversations, and the sincerity in his responses. He’s a very good listener, very thoughtful, and he asks honest and thought-provoking questions. I felt like he could really empathize with me in a way that I had been needing, and it really made me feel comfortable to open up about sensitive matters.”

Do your Meditation & Confide in a Mentor
Do spiritual people even need counseling? Isn’t your spiritual practice enough?
One of the most valuable things in the whole world is belonging to a conscious community. It lifts you up to a level of spiritual experience that you can’t reach on your own.
At the same time, comparing yourself with other people can trigger feelings of guilt and shame, especially when you struggle to reach the proper Standards. People might even criticize you behind your back. This hurts so much that you might disappear for a while. Even if you show up again at community gatherings, you still feel like an imposter. And most of all, you learn to hide your struggles, while appearing flawless.
The split between your public and private life is getting too big to handle anymore, and it’s awfully painful. You might be tempted to stop showing up at all. But then you lose what you value the most.
That’s why every spiritual community needs a confidential place where people can talk about their secret struggles—a place where you know that your secrets will remain secrets, and you can still get the guidance you need.
In fact, in the Hindu language, a counselor to the King is called a mantri, or someone who keeps secrets. So even if you’re a King, you need at least one person in your life you can be fully honest with.
Maybe I’m not the mentor for you. But one’s things for sure. You can’t afford to suffer in silence forever. If you’ve felt stuck and alone for a long time now, the situation is not going to change on it’s own. You need to get in touch with someone who understands and can actually help you.
Where to start? You can always read my free guide on how to find the right counselor.

And anything that’s mentionable is manageable.”

Here’s How it Works and Exactly What to Expect
Strict Confidentiality

Talking to a Friend can be helpful—sometimes. When you open up to a friend, you never know how they might respond. You might worry you’re just burdening them with your problems. They might talk behind your back. You might need more support than they’re willing, or able to provide. These concerns are normal and valid.
What I offer is different. Everything you share with me is protected by my privacy policy. So you’re free to really open up about sensitive matters, without having to worry about being misunderstood or judged. Not only that, but you can rest assured that I’ve already helped many people with similar problems as you see in my Testimonials. So you can trust that I actually know how to help.

Something I believe in is the importance of having great Teachers—people you admire because of their beautiful Ideals and real Integrity. You need Teachers to show you the truth about God, the World, and the eternal Soul. Teachers act like the Sun shining light on the world.
But here’s what I learned the hard way:
Your eyes are made to look outward—not inward. That’s why you can see the world so clearly, but still not understand why you do what you do sometimes. You can hear the truth. You can even believe it. But if no one helps you see yourself clearly, you’ll keep sabotaging what you were trying to build.
That’s why you don’t just need more advice—you need a Mentor who acts as a Mirror.
Someone who can help you see how old wounds are still shaping your choices today.
Not to judge you.
But to free you.
In the words of Socrates, “So the way that we can best see and know ourselves is to use the finest mirror available.”
Lasting change happens in the context of deep understanding and trust. And that’s why, over time, as our personal relationship develops, the way I guide you will be more and more grounded in a deep understanding of your unique history and psychology. And that’s something Teachers don’t usually offer.
Goal-setting and Accountability

We’ll uncover the lost Ideals that matter to you the most—not just what you think you should want, but what your heart is quietly aching for, and turn those insights into clear, meaningful goals. On your own, this can be hard to do because of perfectionism, all-or-nothing thinking, or feeling torn between Conflicting Alliances in your heart. But I will help you to integrate these seemingly apposing elements into one, sustainable way of being true to yourself.
When setbacks happen (and they will), I’ll be there to brace you from shame and hopelessness, so that you won’t fall through the cracks and be left to figure it all out on your own. Instead, we’ll use your mistakes as meaningful openings—doorways to deeper self-understanding and renewed commitment. Because Life is a great Teacher, and your mistakes are her lessons. And you are a conscious soul, not your mistakes. When you realize this on an emotional level, you will no longer have the fear that failure means anything inherently bad about who you are. You will be free you to truly pursue success without being undermined by perfectionism or fear of failure.
Guided Journaling
📌 This is a unique feature that makes me different from therapists
Therapists diagnose problems. But how do they decide what counts as a problem in the first place? If you examine their diagnostic manual, they decide something is a problem when it makes you suffer unnecessarily or interferes with you functioning in society. That’s a great start. But do you really believe that’s all there is to achieve in life?
I am a life coach because it gives me the freedom to talk about Spiritual Values.
That’s why my clients choose me, even over therapists.
One thing I offer that’s totally unique is a Guided Journaling Experience. We will explore some of the most fundamental and profound Questions that humans have ever pondered, and directly relate them to your healing journey. The answers you come up with will solidify your values, and create a deeply form of personal accountability—once you write down what you believe, you’re challenged to stand up for it even when people react negatively. You’re challenged to act on your principles even when it’s hard. This is where real growth and transformation happens.

About Me: From Monk to Mentor
My name is Damodar. When my friends left school to pursue their careers, I was looking for meaning. I found that in the Hare Krishna movement, and became a Hindu monk from 2009 to 2016.
What I learned from Ancient Texts, like the Bhagavad-Gita, is what I believe now. God is the One Person who can finally make us Complete. His name is Krishna, which means all-attractive. Love is the only way to experience that Redemption. And that the world we live in is a Great Teacher, who helps us to grow in character and come closer to our Spiritual Destiny.
What I didn’t realize was knowing this on a philosophical level is not the same as internalizing it on an emotional level. That’s why I had to make so many mistakes. My High Hopes in specific people were smashed by so many Rude Awakenings. And for a long time, I wasn’t handling it well at all. I became resentful and alienated from the very Ideals that made me a Spiritual Seeker in the first place, and even a Romantic.
What saved me was the intervention of a Spiritual Counselor. Not just an amateur or self-absorbed advisor, but someone who was able to hold up a mirror and show me the Conflicting Alliances in my own heart that were getting me twisted. I reclaimed my trust in myself, found my way in the world, got married, had kids, and most importantly, overcame the shame and resentment that had taken me so far from Home.
