Maximize the Value of Coaching

Investing in yourself can be scary if you’re not used to it, or if somewhere deep inside, you believe you’re not worth it. Here are three ways to maximize the value you get from coaching.

  1. Become clear what you want. Coaching is a co-active relationship, not a one-sided process where you passively receive services. You’re in the driver’s seat of your life, and I’m like a co-pilot helping you navigate. The destination isn’t something I can decide for you. But together, we’ll look into your heart to see what your intrinsic values are, and these insights will serve as a GPS where you’re meant to go in life. The foundation of the whole process is your clarity of intention about what you want, and everything else — the weekly 1:1 Meetings, Goal Setting, Habit Tracking, and Guided Journaling — are all there to serve that clarity.

  2. Be fully honest with yourself. What will be the cost if you don’t make the changes in your life that you’re considering? What sacrifices will it take to make those changes?  How serious are you about doing what it takes? What are your doubts, fears, and obstacles? If you’re not 100% honest with yourself about questions like these, then it will not be possible for you to be 100% honest with me. There will be resistance or obstacles in our way that are impossible to work on until you acknowledge them.

  3. Embrace responsibility. The most important outcomes that come from coaching will come from your implementation of the insights, principles, and practices, that we discover and craft for you. It’s up to you to consistently show up, talk about your challenges, apply what you learn, and repeat the process as your journey continues.
